Hi

So glad you've got it sorted now. Hope you enjoy the bookport as much as
most of us do. I think why your computer rebooted was because you also
upgraded the bookport transfer software. So, you should be running the
correct version of both firmware and software now.

Regards

Donna

Hello,

I am now just getting up and running with book port after dealing with a
problem with a conflict between the Book Port and my usb reader writer.

I am happy to report that everything was sailing very smoothly along until
I decided to update my Bookport this afternoon. I read up a bit and
thought that I had a handle on the procedure and took off.

I heard the message asking me if I wanted to update now and I clicked yes
and the process was happily under way. Then, the installation stopped
and asked if I wanted to reboot the computer now. I hadn't heard of this
before and was a bit hesitant to click on the reboot, but knew of no other
options, so went with it and clicked on yes to reboot.

After the system had rebooted and I had entered my pass word and the
desk top came up and joy of joys, I was back into the install program!

I snatched up the bookport and pulled out the cable to the computer on
the second or third announcement to do so and then I had to fumble
getting my headphones on and think that I heard a chime sound but nothing
else. I remembered reading that I was not to touch a key on the
bookport and I just sat here ridgidly in my chair awaiting for something
to happen. After around half an hour, I just couldn't stand it any longer
and pressed the number 2 key and it read the folder name where I had
left it.

I was glad that it was still working but was very hesitant to press the
a plus c combo of keys to see what version I was hearing. To my great
joy, I heard, version 2.00 and some more numbers. but I was nearly hyper
ventilating by this time!

I assume that I am running the full blown version of 2.00 and not the beta
version. I just haven't had time to try out any of the new features, but
will give it a good road test tomorrow.

Many thanks to all of you who offered helpful suggestions and support
during the first week that I had this little jewel and do hope that I can
repay the favor helping others down the road!

Again many thanks and happy bookporting!

Ed,
