If you are using XP, select properties for the drive from the My Computer
list box.  Press cntrl+tab, then press c for check disk.  XP will tell you
it will do the check next time you restart the computer.  HTH.

I know this might be off topic but does anyone remember how to correct
errors on the hard drive using the equivalent of the "chkdsk /f" command?
