[bookport] Newest Beta

Hi folks. Installed the newest Beta with no problem except
something sounded cut-off after the word load.
I see the sluggishness problem is listed as fixed but don't think
I am seeing the same responsiveness as in the currently released
software. Is this my imagination, is this still unresolved, or is
it a necessary consequence of the new functionality?
