I'm not sure what was posted previously, but I regularly buy a single-ear,
mono, ear phone. It comes from Radio Shack for less than $4. I like to use
them when I'm walking or traveling as it leaves one ear tuned to what is
happening around me. The cord is about a meter and it comes with a plastic
loop that can hold it over your ear. I always just throw that piece away as
the ear plug fits comfortably in my ear.
