Hi all of you! I have a bookport that I got about a month and a half ago.
I am learning to use it quickly, I have been subscribed to this list for
about a month and I am learning a lot of the things that I no about bookport
from all of you! This list Is very helpful! I also have a gateway laptop
with windows Xp Media Center. Everything is going great! A few weeks ago I
was doing something's of line, I have Wifi internet. I got a pop up message
that told me that my fire wall had been disabled. I use the JAWS 7.10
screen reader, So I went in to my firewall and I Enabled it. I researched
it and Found a lot of in the Mcafee website. It found about the hacker, and
it was in California. The computer had a very short IP address. I kept
looking and I found out what programs were granted access to the internet.
I also found out what program was causing the hacker problem! It was
bookport transfer! It said that the bookport transfer program was granted
internet access through my fire wall. It said that my book port transfer
software was aloud to send and received information from other computers.
It wasn't even notifying me about it. The thing is, it was allowing
bookport transfer to grant access through my Fire Wall and it wouldn't even
let the authorization for JFW go through the fire wall with out my
permission. It just surprised me. It has happened another three or four
times since then and I just don't get why! I would really appreciate any
help from anyone. I would also like to know if anyone else has had this
problem! Thank you.
