[bookport] Differences in volume

Hi list,
Can somebody tell me why there's so much difference in the volume of the
synthesizer compared to what an MP3 comes through with. If I have the
volume set so that an MP3 is comfortable, I can barely make out what the
synth is saying when it's time to change files.
