Let's put to rest the idea that Book Port is trashing flashcards and that =
you can update or send files to the unit without the flashcard.

First of all, we have seen flashcards go bad. At this time, we do not =
believe this is a Book Port problem. The fact is that flashcards can go =
bad, even if there is no Book Port involved.

There are some things you can do to help insure a healthy flashcard.

Do not remove the flashcard while the unit is speaking or connected.

Do not use the flashcard for files other than Book Port files.

If you need to change flashcards, wait until you hear the double-beep =
shutdown sound. That is Book Port's way of telling you that it is =
finished writing to the card.

When people said they were having problems with card errors, I attempted a
firmware download with card removed, which resulted in a file write error.
This is of course logical, since the firmware file is loaded onto the
flashcard before being loaded.

Since then, however, each time I connect to BP Transfer I am notified of =
new
firmware, but I never seem to get any further.

I've installed the latest BP Transfer version, reverted to 1.0.4 flash =
etdc
etc, but can't seem to come up with a way to get the firmware update to
load.

Is there a URL for the firmware, which I could re-flash, as I successfully
did with the existing version?

Am I missing something here, or is the software confused because of the
previously aborted flash download?

Thanks
Tim
