I would recommend temporarily removing the batteries until we get a
fix. I suspect the fix will be today however, so you may be alright just
waiting.

Is it recommended to remove my batteries when not using the Book Port,
so
that they won't be drained? Is it inevitable that this latest firmware
drains batteries?
