I loaded a couple of MP3 files into my Bookport using the new beta software. I also saw the BBDOC.TXT file was loaded at the same time. The Help file is still in the BP. . ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Cullen To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 26, 2007 6:55 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Disabling bookport transfer Hi Walt, because I find the bookport program intrusive. Every time I would load my bookport the bookport transfer software would launch itself. I still use the bookport transfer software just in a different way, I use it in the send to menu. Not having the bookport transfer program launching itself every time I plug my bookport into the computer, is great. the book port still loads with out a problem. with the program I use called start up manager I can reload the bookport software any time I want to. Since MP3 is the only format you can copy to the Book Port without using the transfer program, I guess all you ever want on the BP are MP3 files, but that's like using a sledgehammer to swat a mosquito, since there are excellent 1Gb MP3 players like the Zen Stone available for a tenth the cost of the BP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Cullen Sent: Saturday, June 23, 2007 10:25 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Disabling bookport transfer Hi Everyone, I disabled bookport transfer using a program that runs in the control pannel called start up manager. The computer still recognizes the bookport when I plug it in to my machine. I was able to send books using the send menu In the file menu. I am using usb 2.0. I hope this helps everyone thank you all for your suggestions. Sincerely, Steve Cullen
