I've noticed that the lock beep isn't what drains the battery.  If the =
lock beeps are turned off it still wakes up for ten seconds if a key is =
pressed when the unit is locked.  I like your idea of carrying it in a =
case which will prevent this.

I like it.  Given that the beep in the lock mode wakes up the unit for
10 seconds each time it is pressed, it is quite possible for one to
drain battery life if the unit is in a tight fitting place and gets
bumped a lot thus waking up the unit frequently.  I haven't had such a
problem because I make sure I carry it in a case that doesn't allow this
to happen.  But I can see the possible need and, as I recall, this was
brought up before, perhaps by Larry.  But then, the mind is going.  So,
I'll just drift off into old age reading books on the book port.  I can
think of far worse ways to go.
