I can only assume you have your punctuation off. The correct command is 1 =
+ 3 + star + pound. We write this as 1+3+*+#.
You would issue this command after copying the bpfw._bb file to the card, =
and inserting it into the Book Port.

Also, Larry mentioned the 1-3 command to start the firmware working. When
should one execute that command, and, is that indeed the right key
combination, since that normally is the lock toggle?
