With magic continuing to wane it appears that it is only a matter of
time before there is no magic left, and then what will become of
Zambini Towers and Kazam Enterprises, much less its inhabitants, all of
the wizards, sorceresses, soothsayers, and some of indeterminate
derivation and kind, much less Jennifer Strange, its manager? But a
new prophecy predicts that the last dragon will die at the hand of the
Last Dragonslayer next Sunday at noon, and the rush is on for everyone
to claim the last of the Dragonlands. But perhaps all is not lost, for
it appears that the death of the last dragon may bring about a burst of
Big Magic, and it appears that Jennifer and her Quark Beast will be
right there in the middle of it all!
This is the first of Fforde's Jennifer Strange/Kazam stories, and
precedes _The Song of the Quark Beast_ I reviewed not that long ago. A
lot of fun, as Fforde's books usually are. Got this from Audible.
