OK, it’s a small thing, but I was continually annoyed by how some of the media
continued to identify Malheur NWR as a “bird sanctuary”. Yes, it is that, but
so much more! I even emailed a couple of reporters and asked them to refer to
it properly, but to no avail.
Call it what you will, just glad it is back in the hands of the people who love
it. Maybe even the law enforcement folks who sweep it will fall in love…..

The one thing good about this is now so many folks know what is meant by 'The
Narrows' or the Field Station, wish the would not refer to it as the refuge
but as the refuge HQ. Surprised that term has never been corrected by a
journalist.

The FBI is offering credentialed media the opportunity to take an escorted
visit close to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge on Friday, February
12th. Each media outlet will be permitted a maximum of 2 people. You will
have the opportunity to move closer to the refuge (but not into the refuge)
to take photos/videos. For safety, there will be restrictions in terms of
where and how you can move through the visit. No live streams or uplinks
