I bought the first double CD when I was over in the UK last year, and in case you don't know it's basically a collection of very funny songs/poems/jokes, the contents of some which are specifically 'related' to blind/VI people.

For instance, the sort of title song - Guide cats for the blind - is a joke song about why a cat wouldn't make a good guide animal since, for example, he'd get you to open the fridge for him to take your salmon when you thought you were opening another door.

Not specifically terribly 'realistic', but funny nonetheless...

Anyway, see article below.

Top Cat, White Tie and Tails on Radio 2

By BCAB

Top Cat Hits The Airwaves

The title track from Top Cat, White Tie and Tails, the third of the Guide Cats CDs, was given a tremendous boost today, courtesy of Radio 2's Desmond Carrington.

The track, purred with seductive elegance by Nonny James, was played back to back with musical hit Whatever Lola Wants Lola Gets, performed in equally
bewitching style by Sarah Vaughan.

Desmond Carrington explained to viewers that the Guide Cats CDs were aimed at raising funds for BCAB's EyeT4All initiative. The website address was given
out live on air and we've had a very positive response.

Through Desmond's support, now and with previous Guide Cats CDs, funds have been raised to hold another EyeT4All awareness day. Thank you!

EyeT4All

The Guide Cats CD series features three volumes of humourous poems and songs, written by Les Barker and performed by a galaxy of celebrities. Funds from the sale of the Guide Cats CDs go towards funding BCAB's EyeT4All initiative. EyeT4All is a programme that aims to introduce affordable and easy to use
access technologies to visually impaired people around the UK.

Les Barker
Les Barker writes strange poems and comes originally from Manchester, but he's now Welsh. He was an accountant before he became a professional idiot. His poems include Jason and the Arguments, Cosmo the Fairly Accurate Knife Thrower, The Church of the Wholly Undecided, Leonardo Da Thingy and Bungee Jumping for Lemmings, to name but two. Les began his career as assistant to Mrs Ackroyd, a small hairy mongrel who lay around in folk clubs, bit people and became famous. Mrs Ackroyd was the only dog ever to own her own record label. Since her sad demise, Les is mainly a solo performer, though he has taken to working
with humans from time to time. Visit mrsackroyd.com to find out more.

British Computer Association of the Blind
