FWIW, during practice, and during the ride on this past Saturday, I was
wearing both an offroad riding chest and back protector, as well as
elbow guards, and, they're forms of plastic body armour, with padding
that you fasten in place using velcro, and they're specifically meant to
provide impact protection, while not causing too much over-heating, due
to the physical nature of offroad motorcycle riding, which means they're
not as warm, or airflow impeding as something like a full leather jacket.
So, during the build up to this event, I was joking with some of my
friends that, at times, in certain environments, it might not be a bad
thing for a blindie to wear something like this, while exploring a new
environment, for example, so if they walked into an unknown obstacle,
they wouldn't hurt themselves as such.
But, yes, this was more of a joke thought than anything else.
