Sounds like a cool idea, as I guess we Blindies are using a lot of Audio
gadgets, hardware and software.

This would definitely be of interest, and just wondering if you'd prefer to
keep it focused on things like audio recording/editing/gadgets, or also include
possible aspects like hearing aid providers, things like my portable inline
amplifier - which I suppose would actually fall under general gadgetry since
it's primarily meant to help you save battery life for things like MP3 players
- or maybe even include other audio based things like the vOICe, the KSonar,
etc.

Suppose would really be best to keep it focused on certain/specific aspects of
audio, etc., like, to add another one, hifi/sound equipment, maybe also
including musical equipment/instruments of certain types - and on that one, my
brother is a fully sighted musician/sound/video producer FWIW.

Stay well

Subject: [Blind] All Things Audio

Hi all,

For some time now I've been toying with the idea of facilitating a audio
workshop, where we can network and talk about all things audio, such as
accessible sound software, DAISY and adapted MP3 players, recorders, speakers,
headphones, audio books, DVS movies etc.

I'm certain we could get hardware distributors such as the likes of Sennheiser
and Bose to come along and show us their latest kit. I'm also reasonably
confident that Sensory Solutions and the SANCB would be happy to be there along
with us with their audio-related assistive technology.

Hopefully we could get the folk from DAISY South Africa to join us, as well as
of course BlindLib and Tape Aids.

I envisage a one day event with an exhibition/demo element and perhaps around
nine or so 20-minute product presentations.

Please share your thoughts, I'm personally by no means an expert on the subject
of audio but find it incredibly interesting.
