Many thanks for your message.The hard drive is an internal one not external but I'll give it a go and switch to the main drive.
connection is wired. The check box you mentioned is unchecked.When I uninstalled the program, I did it through add remove programs and I'm pretty sure it removed everyhting. I didn't back any files up.
I don't recall being asked about shared files during uninstallation.Would it make sense to uninstall everything and manually check that the schedule8.dat file is removed?

Secondary hard drive you say and I assume its an external one right?2. Are you using direct connection or wireless connection. It's much better to use direct connection with cable connected to your PC or notebook.3. Did you by any chance change the setting to 'convert faster'? This is found by pressing alt+f then choosing settings. Open the other tab sheet and see if the checkbox to convert faster is checked. If it is uncheck this box.4.
