Rochdale Observer (UK) Tuesday, October 30, 2007 Goalball duo star in Europe TWO players from the Rochdale Goalball Club are back home from an international tournament in Holland. Emma Jones, from Middleton, and Daffyd Williams had been invited to join a representative squad for an annual tournament held in Breda. The weekend "marathon" was for both club and European national teams. The squad they were in consisted of players from Rochdale, Leeds and London. The highlight was a draw against the Slovenian national team. Emma and Daffyd were also part of the Rochdale squad which competed in the latest BBS goalball experienced tournament in Lutterworth, near Leicester, on Saturday. This was the squad's first outing of the season, but despite their shortage of match practice they put in some quality performances to finish in sixth place. The tournament was won by West Midlands. http://www.rochdaleobserver.co.uk/sport/s/1022088_goalball_duo_star_in_europe BlindNews Mailing List Subscribe: BlindNews-Request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "subscribe" as subject Unsubscribe: BlindNews-Request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe" as subject Moderator: BlindNews-Moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Archive: http://GeoffAndWen.com/blind RSS: http://GeoffAndWen.com/BlindNewsRSS.asp More information about RSS feeds will be published shortly.
