Barbados will be represented at Disabilities Conference in Italy
The Barbados Employers Confederation has moved to ensure that this island is
represented at a major disabilities conference in Italy next week.
To this end it has successfully sought sponsorship from corporate Barbados for
final year student in social work at the cave hill campus of the UWI, Eudalie
Wickham to attend that conference from October 15th to 24th in Turin.
The conference is entitled Integrating People with Disabilities into the
Workforce.
Assistant Director of the National Disabilities Unit, Lloyd Springer believes
the assignment should prove invaluable for Ms. Wickham who's visually impaired.
Ms. Wickham who's been active in promoting the interests of people with
disabilities says she's looking forward to visiting Turin.
Ms. Wickham says she's keen to gather as much information as she can to develop
more initiatives to help people with disabilities to earn a living and
meaningfully contribute to social development.
