Great. The Booksense isn't bad, but I always wanted them to speed it up a little. Now I guess it doesn't matter. Can you change the pitch of the book too?

Yes, you can speed up the reading of a BARD book. I'm not sure how much, but I never max it out. I'm not a speed merchant when it comes to reading audio books though. I'd guess it's similar to the stand alone player. It does get faster than the Booksense, by way of an example.

Has anyone had experience using the mobile app from NLS for the IPhone?
What I'm wondering is whether you can increase the playback speed on NLS
books? If so, how much. I'd rather have to slow it down from the
fastest speed than to wish I had a faster option.
