I rebooted when this happened to me recently, and as the computer was shutting down my screen reader reported that cc ap would have to close. I think that's an antivirus something related to Norton. Since I scan incoming mail, a problem with antivirus software could make it impossible for eudora to connect. Rebooting straightened out the broken application and let eudora run unincumbered.
