Good morning everyone!
I am writing with a calendar update for August.
As usual, our Riders Lounge will be next Saturday the 6th at 8 pm eastern. You
can expect a reminder email with call in details from Suzanne closer to the
date of the call.
CHANGE IN SCHEDULE!
Please note our August group zoom meeting date has been delayed by a week this
month to accommodate some known travel plans. The new date is Thursday Aug 18
at 8 pm eastern. We will have a brief org comm meeting at the tail end of the
regular zoom meeting since that is usually our org comm meeting date.
Our August Topic is scheduled to be barn and farm yard orientation. Marcia and
Suzanne will be leading the discussion about techniques and ideas that help us
navigate in these areas. Please feel free to come with ideas that have worked
for you and problems you may be running into that maybe we can help problem
solve.
We are also looking for our participants in the group to weigh in on topics for
upcoming meetings. We want to make sure what we are discussing as a group is
interesting and beneficial to all of the different types of equestrians in the
group. Some ideas we have had in our organizational meetings included:
Trail riding and riding outside
Dealing with spooks and emergencies
How to get more blind riders interested in riding
Dealing with fear, both fear for our members who already ride and the fear of
riding for a person interested in trying but who is nervous about it.
Please feel free to add any ideas or let us know if you think one of those
topics would be of particular interest to you.
