Yes, Rob, I made cinnamon rolls in August. Here. Because our weather has been somewhat cooler than the seasonal norm, and I was willing to heat the oven to 350, especially since we both wanted cinnamon rolls and Emily requested we make them. I don't totally obstain from baking during the summer, but I scale it way, way back, especially when the outside temps are exceptionally high. What baking I tend to do in summer is done in the morning, like when I make bread. Which reminds me, I need to make two batches of hamburger buns this week. I really should have ordered two of those burger bun pans. The whole process of curing and smoking a ham has always intimidated me a bit. I'm a bit envious of guys who do it well. Hope yours turns out.

You made cinnamon rolls in August? In Vegas? Crazy.
Today I am smoking a green ham. That is, a ham that has not been cured. It's sort of an experiment. If I like this, I'll try curing my own ham later. I'd really love to do a black forest ham, but that takes weeks and weeks of precisely controlled cold smoking and aging.

Dani:
The average package of cream cheese is eight ounces, so the total amount
needed here is one pound. I bet this dip tastes good, vut there's a lot of
caleries here...not that I should care much, given how much butter was in
the awesome cinnamon rolls I made yesterday.

This sounds really yummy.

How much cream cheese do we need? I know it says 2 pkgs, but what's
the net weight on the pkgs?

Thanks,
Dani, pondering having this with chili and homemade tortilla chips
