I've sent what I have on measurements of things. There are a few
entries that give some weights or metric measurements, but I don't
seem to have anything comprehensive with weights of foods by volume.
I also weigh some mixing bowls and baking pans and have them written
down. I can use my talking kitchen scale to be sure there's the same
amount of cake batter, for instance, in each pan. I've needed to
make 2 pans, each 9 by 13 inches. One of my pans has small handles
on the ends and the other doesn't. There's a half ounce difference
between them. Weighing them let's me know the contents of each pan
is the same. You can do something similar with mixing bowls to know
the weight of its contents. For exxample, I want the same weight in
one baking pan as is left in the mixing bowl. Same idea if you've
got multiple pans, such as for making large muffins. Why does it
matter? It doesn't much, but a smaller amount of batter will get
done faster than a large one. It's just nice to have them done at
the same time and to the same doneness.
Hope some of this is helpful!
