Subject: [blindchristian] Bible Literacy Question, Please Reply
I'm asking this several places, sorry if you've seen it before. If you know
other places to ask, feel free to forward this, by let me know what kind of
results you get.
A recent Gallup poll claims 24% of people believe the Bible is the literal word
of God. 70% believe it is at least inspired by God. My question is, if you
don't fall into the 24%, how do you interpret the Bible? As alogory,
meta0phore, pick and choose which parts to ignore, or something else. How
highly do you hold it as the authority for moral guidance. Keep in mind that
considering it literal also includes recognizing literary devices such as
poetry, parable, figures of speech, etc.
