Hi Lillian! Thanks so much for the explanation. The hard shutdown should not
have done anything to your typing mode. There is no gesture to save the
changes, all you have to do is use the rotor gesture find the typing mode you
want, and then wrote her back to whatever you were working on before… This
should save the changes. It Can accidentally be changed, and that’s what I’m
thinking happened… Let me know how it goes and if you have any more questions,
don’t hesitate to ask! :-)

I just realized that my I-pod touch typing mode isn't the correct way I want
it. Last Thursday, my I-device instructor changed it at my request. When I
ran into this verification failure, the tec at the Apple Disability number
had me do a hard shutdown to correct the problem. She was trying to get my
I-pod Touch to do a share but it wasn't allowing me to find those accept and
I agree buttons in order to do that. So, I'm wondering if that hard shutdown
didn't revert it back to direct typing. I wanted it set on the one ffinger
double tap on each character rather than having it click automatically as I
touch a character on my device's keyboard. I'm going to see if I can make
that change from within the roter now and see if it holds the change.
Apparently, it didn't hold when Andrew did it for some unknown reason. One
question, once I make my selection, is there a "save" button to apply
afterward, like on a computer? Just wondering if that's the root of my
problem. If so, can you please
tell me what correct gesture to use to ensure my change won't disappear?

Hi Lillian. I'm not David obviously but I work for Apple. To answer your
question about shift, you would hit the shift 3 times to turn on caps lock.
This will capitalize more than 1 letter.
As for your "verification failed" message, it should give you a button to try
again... If it happens again, keep us posted. I'd be willing to provide my
phone number if it doesn't work a second time so we can go through it
together and I can hear what's being said by the iPod touch.

I was entering my password into my I-pod Touch. Periodically it asks me to
enter it, especially after updating the IOS software from one version to
another. I ran into a problem when switching from letters to numbers and it
suddenly said "Verification failed" but I couldn't find a cancel or delete
button or even a clear button that would allow me to try again later. It does
give a "not now" option, which generally works. However, this time after
doing a one finger double tap on that option the selection doesn't seem to
stick. It jumps back to insisting I enter my password and sometimes my Apple
Id.I'm slower at typing on a smaller keyboard than the standard ones used
with my computers. I have a question about using the shift like I would with
a computer. On my computer, if I want to capitalize more than one letter in
succession, I can press either shift key and the screen reader will say,
"caps lock on" and when I hit that key again, naturally, the screen reader
says "Caps lock off.
" It seems like I need to keep hitting the shift to capitalize all the
characters in my password individually, instead of being able to get the
shift on the little keyboard of my I-pod Touch to lock in place and unlock
when I want to switch to numbers. So, is there a way to achieve that? Thanks
