Hi David,
I just tried it with my middle finger, ring finger, and pinky. They still do
touch, but not as close as when I use my index finger, middle finger, and ring
finger. The thumb is just too uncomfortable to use. What I've noticed is that
my index and middle fingers are right up against each other but there is a tiny
space between my middle and ring fingers. I wonder if it has something to do
with the fact that I've done the gestures this way ever since I got my iPad and
was never shown the correct finger placement. I was at the Apple Store this
past week for a Voiceover workshop, but they didn't show me how to place my
fingers on the screen for a three finger swipe. They explained it verbally, but
not physically showing me.

Kelsey,
This may sound odd but do you still struggle with keeping your fingers
together if you use a different combination of fingers?

Hi David,
I'm using the three finger gesture to move between pages on the home
screen. Sometimes it will work with my fingers together, but most of the
time, it doesn't. What happens with me is my ring finger is getting pushed
underneath my other two fingers. As I said, I can get the separation if I
hold them apart with my other hand, but they don't want to stay separated
once I pull my other hand out of the way. I need some way to keep them apart
when swiping. Any possibilities?

Hi, Kelsey.
I remember working with an older student who had a very similar problem
with the two-finger double tap. Apparently, he was holding his fingers
close together and his phone had some difficulty in registering the fact
that he had two fingers on the touch screen. As soon as he separated his
fingers the gesture worked.
However, I wanted to experiment and so I tried the three-finger swipe to
the right or left to move from one page to the next on the home screen.
Oddly enough, it seemed to work even with my three fingers as close as I
could keep them. Could you tell me which gesture you're using and is it
happening with a specific app? I'd like to try and duplicate your
situation as much as I can to see if I can figure out what's happening.

Hello,
I have had my iPhone Se dog about two months. I am getting comfortable
with it now, but one issue I've been struggling with is the three finger
flick. I went to the Apple Store and they said that I'm holding my fingers
too close together. I can get my fingers to separate if I put my index and
middle finger from my other hand between them, but w3en I take my other
hand away, my fingers immediately go back to touching and I can't keep
them apart. Obviously I can't swipe holding my fingers apart with my other
hand, but does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try to keep them
separated? It feels very unnatural having my fingers apart like that. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
