Hello i am running JAWS 18 latest update on Windows 7. I am
using a Brailliant Bi 40 for my job and for the past couple
months, the display will sometimes go completely blank. Not like
when it's turned off, but there's nothing showing on the display.
This lasts several seconds, but it has lasted as long as a
minute. I've noticed that the problem is worse when using
Internet Explorer, but it has done it once or twice in Firefox
too. A friend of mine also has a Brailliant and she said hers
does the same thing. Tech support at Freedom Scientific has not
been much help since it isn't their braille display. I don't
recall having this problem with JAWS 17. I wonder if there's a
corrupt braille driver somewhere that's causing the Brailliant to
stop communicating with JAWS. I was curious if anyone else is
having similar issues with other braille displays such as the
Focus or Braille Edge or if this is a Brailliant problem. Any
thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Kelsey Nicolay
