Yes, JAWS may well be the only screen reader which supports contracted
Braille input. I have heard that this is a feature which NV Access
wanted to implement but I don't know where it is on their road map.
The last time I worked with a screen reader using Braille input was
PCMaster, which was a DOS screen reader which used a Braille 'n Speak
for both input and output. If my memory is correct, I believe it had
Grade 2 Braille input, which was pretty amazing. Sadly, it's no longer
around. There was a Windows version available but it never made it past
Windows 3.1.
