I know, right? I had to laugh even as I grimaced. I think I need to train my
girl to hop on wifi whenever it's available.
Yes, my husband and I do most of our streaming when we are at home and on wifi
so our data usage is minimal.

Kim,
Your granddaughter used over 12 gigs, huh? The child likely goes on Facebook
or Youtube to watch videos, whereas you and your husband obviously perform
tasks very, very light on data. Maybe checking email once in a while or
reading a news app, if that. I probably would have done similar things had I
owned this technology at her age. <grin>

Thanks David. That’s what I thought. Interestingly, my husband and I
together used only around 500 meg of data during the last billing cycle,
whereas my granddaughter who is also on our plan used 12.5 gig. I am going
to have to train the girl to hop on free wifi when it is available. <grin>

some questions
Hi, Kim.
While I have no experience with Cricket I can almost assure you that the
data caps they may impose on you are, as you guessed, just for cellular use.
When you're connected to Wifi, particularly your home Wifi, you can stream
to your heart's content at whatever speed the connection currently offers.
Of course, some public Wifi hotspots may choose to limit or even block
streaming but your home Wifi should pose no issues when it comes to
streaming. This assumes that your home Wifi does not have data limits of its
own but this is not likely the case.

Hi David and all,
I’m in the market for a new cell provider. Right now we are with T Mobil and
I am not happy with them for a number of reasons I won’t get into here.
My current plan gives us unlimited talk, text and data for 180 per month for
four lines. The plan I’m considering is with Cricket and gives me the same
unlimited features for 100 for four lines. The only caviat is that they cap
your data speed.
Now here’s my question. This cap is only an issue when you are streaming on
cellular, correct? If I am connected to wifi my streaming will be dictated
by my wifi network not my cell provider. Am I right?
Also, if anyone has cricket for their provider I would like to hear about
your experience.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Kim
