Hi,

This must have been a very late development. Because I called and spoke to
several people at amazon myself. Including people in the Echo department and I
was told that the Show would not have voice view available. I was also told
that the Show would require sighted assistance during the initial set up.
Therefore, I will need to hear an actual demonstration of a show with voiceview
before I’m ready to believe it is actually accessible. And I’m also still glad
I went with a traditional Echo rather than the Show because I know several
people who tried fire tablets with voice view and quickly traded up to iPads.

Merv

Subject: [blind-philly-comp] Echo Show Has Accessibility Features, Including
Voice View

Originally, there were whispers that the Echo Show, which is an Echo with a
touchscreen and camera, would not include accessibility features. I have now
found out that this is not the case, according to Amazon's help pages. Here's
the page covering using the Voice View screen reader on the Echo Show.
