Our most recent phone meeting contained a lively discussion regarding, among
other things, comments regarding the services of Verizon Fios and Comcast.
1. Martin mentioned some channels which he was unable to locate on his Comcast
channel lineup. Martin, I did find out that the audio feed of CNN International
is available on iOS apps, such as TuneIn and OOtunes.
2. Martin was asking about the accessibility of Verizon Fios's text-to-speech
option. I have no information to share about this as I have never had a chance
to use it. However, if any of you are Verizon Fios subscribers it would be
great if you could share some feedback regarding the pros and cons of their TTS
options.
3. Martin was also asking about comparisons of the Fire TV and the Apple TV
from a usability perspective. I don't own either of these devices, although I'm
familiar with them. If any of you have used both of them I'm wondering if you
could comment on the pros and cons of each, particularly as it relates to
accessibility.
4. On the call I mentioned that Mystic Access offered a class discussing the
accessibility of various options for cordcutters. This material is now
available for
$39.<https://www.mysticaccess.com/product/discovering-terrific-tv-content-for-less-cutting-the-cord-with-blindness-or-low-vision/>00
and can be obtained from the above link.
5. Jonathan Mosen sells a book covering the Apple TV. Its title is The Apple Of
Your Eye – Using Apple TV 4th Generation with VoiceOver
<https://mosen.org/atv4/> and you can read more about it from the above link.
Cost is $29.95.
6. Because Comcast accessibility was mentioned a few times, I'll provide a few
relevant links. First, this link will take you to a page covering Comcast's
various accessibility services. <https://www.xfinity.com/accessibility> In
addition, this link provides more information about Comcast's Accessibility
support center for customers with
disabilities.<https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/accessibility-services>
7. There was also some discussion regarding the Victor Reader Trek.

8. It was great having Christina on the call. Christina, thanks for taking the
time to call in. You're always welcome.
