Hi Kimberly,
Yes, I understand your frustration with screen away mode; I cannot get it
either. Perhaps if someone showed me in person how to do it, I might get it
easier.

i just recently started playing with braille screen input myself on my iPhone
7. In fact I am using it to write this email.
I can't seem to get the hang of screen-away mode, not sure why. So I use
tabletop mode and let the phone rest on my knees while I type. I can say that
I do find it necessary to have every character echoed since my accuracy is
just not that great yet. I also often find it necessary to recalibrate the
dot positions when I am beginning to enter text.
If you haven't checked out the articles on Applevis I suggest you do. There
is a lot of good and helpful info to be found there.
I hope this helps.

Hello,
I am interested in learning how to use the Braille screen input
feature on the iPhone. I have been playing around with it a bit, but I
am not having much luck so far. It seems like only a couple of the dot
positions are calibrating, making it difficult to write any
understandable text. I am holding my iPhone between my palms with one
hand resting close to the speaker and the other near the power button.
This is the only way I can do screen away mode, but I am afraid my
hand might accidentally hit the power button and my screen will lock
in the middle of sending a text. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone
who uses this feature had any suggestions on how to make typing more
accurate when in screen away mode. I am using an iPhone Se if that
makes a difference.
Kind regards,
Kelsey Nicolay
