Hi,
The Flyers had tim Prop, while Keith Jones did the TV. Phillies had Rich Ashburn
for a long time. Eagles have Mike Quick. You are right, the true awareness makes
a great announcer.
But for crowd audio, it's gives the board tech fits with the Non-broadcast
worthy language around the Broadcasters box.

Certain radio broadcasters "Get it", and some just seem to go through the
motions. I'd rather listen to someone who has knowledge of the game, such as our
Patriots radio announcer Scott Zolak. He's pulled chunks of sod off from his
face mask enough times in the past to know the game, and he's not afraid to tell
you when he thinks someone is sluffing off.
I also like it when they turn up the crowd audio. It makes you feel like you're
right there at the game.

We are very lucky in Philly to have tim Saunders (Flyers); Merryl Reece
(Eagles) and some good baseball annoncers.
Also Westwood 1 is pretty good. But that one guy, whew, you do have to get used
to his style.

I've been to about four or five sox games, a Buffalo Sabres hockey
game at the old Aude in Buffalo, and one arena football game in Grand
Rapids Michigan. That's it. All of these were back when my eyes
worked. I love listening to games on the radio, as they give you much
more information on what's going on.
Good luck with your tech show. I imagine you shine with opportunities
like this. Hats off.

Is that the Red Sox or the White Sox with the black hat? Laughs!
I'm volunteering at the Lighthouse of Pinellas this week and we have
someone coming in to demonstrate technology. I am hoping to see a
Vario Ultra and an Edge side by side for sake of comparison. I am also
hoping to get an update on the new I.D. Mate Galaxy by Envision
America which will be the latest and greatest hardware since their
Quest which I use every day to scan barcodes.
I am hoping that enough people show up this week that maybe I can
connect with either some Phillies fans or even a Rays fan or two and
get up a trip over to the Phillies in Clearwater.
I have never been to anything professional other than a Flyers
Capitols Hockey game up in Maryland and that was when I still had
sight. That and a few big college games such as Alabama Penn State caliber.

Hi,
We are supposed to be in the low to mid-seventies for the next seven
days and mostly sunny. However, it has been cold and windy for the
last week and is still only about 65 at noon today. That is the
warmest it has been in a week and may seem warm to everyone up North
but for me it is very cold, laughs! I am wearing two pairs of socks
and fur lined slippers. And my favorite sweat shirt. And last night I
slept under three blankets, one of which was a heavy winter comforter.
I am only about five minutes from Clearwater and I would love to go
get one of those Phillies spring training baseball caps. I don't know
if they are the same color every year but last year they were blue. I
wanted one of those in the worst way. I swore I wouldn't waste money
on MLB this year but I'm already feeling the pull.

Hi, David. Thanks to you and all the other participants for a great
meeting. Even though I sometimes felt like I was hearing a foreign
language, I did glean a number of interesting and helpful tidbits as well.
Moreover, even though at least some of your summary was also covered
in emails, I really enjoyed it (maybe because I could actually
understand everything you said.
Let's all enjoy the 60-degree temperatures today (though I suppose
Merv and Mike will experience even warmer temps).

Hello.
First, I really enjoyed tonight's phone conference. It was nice to
have both some regular callers as well as a few new ones and I am
always grateful for your continued participation.
The recording of tonight's meeting is available for those who
couldn't call in and who would like to hear a replay. My summary of
February's tech news was a bit long and, for those who aren't crazy
about that portion of the meeting, I'll apologize in advance for how long it

During tonight's meeting, Jan reminded me that the last Friday in
March is good Friday. Because of this, I will be unable to attend a
phone meeting during that weekend and so I would like to move it back
one week to Friday, March 18. Hopefully, this change will be OK for
all of you.
If anyone has a topic or possibly a guest speaker to suggest for the
March meeting, please email me and let me know. If anybody would like
to moderate the meeting and focus on a particular topic, I'd love to
see that happen as well.
All the best.
