I would hold off from telling everyone about this site. I went on it with some
of the computer forensics tools I use and their site is doing some very
inappropriate things. Like Ralph Nador used to say “If it sounds to good to be
true, it probably is.”
My tools and my sandboxed test machine assessed an Amazon scam. That tells you
that “You have won, blah blah” or some such language. The site appears to
contain malware. It could be the operator is just careless with their site.
Painfully the more likely possibility is that they are using it as a means to
collect personally identifying information (PII) to later be used to commit
identify theft.
I am working an eDiscovery case and the court has placed the client under a
demand to produce documents by the 31st, I have to complete my work before the
end of Sunday. So it may be a day or two before I can thoroughly check this
out. It looked very nice to me as well.
With the share number of cybercriminals and state actors trying to do harm to
us individually or to our country at large it pays to be extra virulent.
I now know my mission for the summer when my schedule lightens. I will put
together a toolkit for those that are visually impaired, blind, or that have
multiple challenges that can be used to better protect you in Cyberspace.
