If the Senate doesn’t act to pass a bipartisan resolution to stop the
Federal Communications Commission from rolling back net neutrality
rules, the internet
as we know it will change for the worse next Monday, April 23.
Preserving net neutrality is a no-brainer when it comes to protecting
consumers and their access to a free and open internet. Yet Senate
Majority Leader
Mitch McConnell has made no indication that he plans on bringing up
this important resolution for a vote before the FCC’s upcoming
deadline.
It’s time for Republicans in Congress to join Democrats in stopping
the FCC from rolling back net neutrality, and we just need Majority
Leader McConnell
to call the vote. Add your name to urge him to let the Senate vote to
save net neutrality by next Monday.
Without a vote on this resolution, the FCC is set to allow internet
service providers to block or slow down certain websites and create
high-speed “fast
lanes” so they can charge more money for basic internet access.
It’s a dangerous move that’s not only bad for consumers’ wallets, but
for our democracy too.
This is our last chance to save net neutrality before next Monday’s
deadline: add your name to tell Majority Leader McConnell to do the
right thing and
bring this measure up for a vote.
