I have signed a petition like that. But I've become cautious about signing
petitions because they are often sponsored by several organizations and if I
sign, I'll be back on all their mailing lists again. And I'm already
overwhelmed with emails requesting money for hundreds of good causes. I'm
also feeling that the petitions don't do a whole lot. I do sign some, but I
think that what is needed is crowds of people confronting congress people
face to face. I'm also no longer confident that marches do much. But general
strikes might.
