Talking about Naomi Kline, I've always had a great deal of respect for her,
that is, until she chose to go along with everyone else at the Intercept and
criticize Glenn Greenwald for writing an article about Joe Biden's corruption
before Election Day. This is the journalistic outlet that he founded and they
all agreed that the right thing to do was to suppress the truth for the good of
the Democratic Party. It's disgusting! The Intercept refused to print the
article. There are certain lines that one just doesn't cross. I worked in the
adoption field. It's a very dirty business. I was involved with a lot of very
questionable people. But I always knew where the line was that I wouldn't
cross. So I'm having a lot of difficulty these days with a lot of people who
are a lot more financially secure than I was when I had to make ethical
decisions that affected my livelihood. I usually listen to all of Democracy
Now except for repeats. But I didn't listen to the 25th anniversary celebration
yesterday. And like many other folks on the left, Amy Goodman has sold out on
almost all of the international politics aside from Israel. Like lots of
people, she is doing lots of identity politics, lots of race relations stuff,
and some stuff regarding politics. As for Heather Cox, I have no criticism of
anyone who wants to read her stuff. It's just that, like Tom Hartman or Robert
Reich, it's not especially informative because it isn't giving me new
information or making me question. Now Richard Wolff does make me question, a
whole lot.

Miriam,
She's just another source that, even if leaning toward the Establishment,
provides a thoughtful position on the day's events. I don't read her every
day, just as I don't listen to 3 hours of Thom Hartmann every day, nor the full
hour of Democracy Now. I do read everything you post from Chris Hedges, and
much of Glenn Greenwald and Naomi Klein. So many more Progressive commentators
than when I was first a frustraited young factory worker with a wife and a two
year old daughter.

I subscribed to her newsletter for a brief period of time afterMiriam,
reading the first one that you forwarded. But I unsubscribed. I can't
remember the specific thing in her writing that turned me off, but I
came to the conclusion that she is a voice of and for the
establishment and that I wouldn't learn anything new from reading her
newsletter. That's happened lately with a lot of people. I feel like
what they say is OK, but they are careful not to rock the boat. Paul
Jay did a piece yesterday about how Google is banning advertisement of
his reporting on You Tube. He read all of the correspondenc between
Google and him and it's clearly censorship without reasonable cause.
There's so much of this going on these days that few people are
willing to risk their livelihoods by telling unpopular truths. I keep
wondering where Max Blumenthal gets the money to fund The Grayzone
because is reporting on international relations is clearly very
controvercial. I know that his father, Sidney Blumenthal, is very
wealthy and part of the Democratic Party establishment, but it's
difficult for me to believe that he's financing the kind of reporting
done by his son's website.
