I have only had to unplug the modem rather often when I was using Internet
Explorer on the windows 7 computer because periodically, I E wouldn't work. I
almost never have a problem with the stream in relation to downloading. But I
have a second gen stream. You bought the newer version, didn't you? My download
speed with the stream is usually fine. Very occasionally, there's a problem
with a download of a specific episode of a podcast, usually Flashpoints from
Pacifica Radio. But usually, everything goes smoothly. Now that I have the new
computer which Londa set up with Google Chrome as the browser, I have had no
problem with internet connectivity on my computer. I just learned something
from you. I didn't know that the 5 key would give a description of the podcast.
There are 10 episodes of mint cast. I've listened to three and I chose 2 more
to download and will listen to them.

I was able to get it. I had to unplug my modem for a few minutes and then when
I entered Mint Cast four results came up. One was obviously not the one I
wanted, so I subscribed to the other three. I forgot to press the five key to
check on the content first before I subscribed.
But when I remembered it turned out to be the second one. I suppose I will have
to go back and unsubscribe from the other two. It is recommended that the
modem/router be unplugged for a few minutes about once a week, but I find that
my wifi works better if I do it every day.
My downloads improve on speed if I do it every day too. I just don't seem to
get around to it every day. I find myself doing something when I think about it
and telling myself that I'll do it when I get finished and then I get finished
and forget about it and don't think of it again until I am in the middle of
something else.

I did a search for that Mint Cast. So far I only searched for it on my
Victor Reader rather than Googling for it. But I was unable to find it.
I searched for the two words together and got no results. I searched for
the two words combined into one word and that didn't work either. Then I
searched for just the word Mint. For that I got a long list of results and
browsing through them I saw that most of them could not be the one I was
looking for, but a few looked like they might be possibilities. I am
supposing that you are listening on your Victor, So I am wondering if you
have the spelling right on this list or if you do then how did you find it?

the journalists whom I most respect, about The Intercept. I know,
from my own experience, that there are a few Intercept reporters,

listened to the Mint Cast episode which was an interview with Yasha
Levine, the author of Surveillance Valley, a book that I've read
and which is on BARD. His Russian Jewish family emigrated here when he was

Did you know that this country had special rules for Jews

of housing and welfare benefits? That isn't because America loves
Russian Jews, but because they were used as pawns in this country's
cold war against the Soviet Union. Levine is a technology expert
and he knows a lot about the history of how the internet came to be
and how it has evolved. But one of the things that he talked about
today, and that was in the book, is Edward Snowden. You probably
remember that Snowden gave all of the NSA material that he had, to
Glenn Greenwald who, at the time, was working for the Guardian. The
Guardian and the Washington Post published some of Greenwald's
stories about the material, and then Greenwald, along with Jeremy
Scahill, started The Intercept as part of First Look Media, a project
funded by the billionaire owner of Ebay.
The Intercept published more of Greenwald's stories about Snowden's
material, and then it published other secret material given to it
by two other whistle blowers who were very quickly exposed and arrested.
But what the Intercept didn't do, was to publish the majority of
Snowden's NSA documents. So Snowden ended up stuck in Russia,
unable to leave because the US will immediately arrest him for
treason, but only a fraction of the material for which he risked
his life, has been revealed. Levine also explained that Snowden
believes that change should only come through technology, not
through political action or any other kind of citizen action.
Because his life and safety are now dependent on the Russian
government and The Intercept, he cannot complain about the fact
that the Intercept hasn't followed through on its commitment to him. I
should also note that he's involved with The Freedom of the Press
Foundation, which is doing nothing for Julian Assange. The fact that he
has said almost nothing about Assange, was also mentioned on the podcast.
There's a lot more of interest in the podcast.
