There once was a phone with one button, about 25 years ago. There's a company
called, I think, Pages Plus which has low cost cell phone plans for Spanish
speaking customers. When one calls, the people who answer, all speak Spanish. I
don't know if they know anything about phones, but your client could try
talking to them. The number is
1-800-550-2436. He doesn't need the internet to have a cell phone from what
I've read on other lists.

We have an elderly client, newly blind, Spanish speaking, immobile.
He is low income and he and his wife have no phone. He is looking for a cell
phone, under the Free Cell Phone Program, that can be set up so he can push one
number and access 911. His wife can set the phone near him and turn it on when
she is gone, so that all he would do is to pick it up and hit the one button.
His wife is never gone long, but he worries about what would happen if she were
unable to return when he needs her. Does anyone know of such a programmable
cell phone? And by the way, they have no internet.
