I think he bridged some gaps over years from classic rock routes. Mostly he was
a showman and performer though.
It is remarkable though that this last album came out just a few days before
his death, on his 69th birthday.
And though his big deal was again in live and video performances I really still
like his music especially the early stuff and the very concept of a concept
album which he helped pioneer, or, rather refined in the late sixties.

I just played this excerpt and I'm willing to believe he really is in heaven.
I heard an interview replayed during a story about his death. He didn't
consider himself a musician. Music was something he used to express himself.
I never really connected with his music, or whatever it was. I'd be interested
to hear from you who are fans of classic rock. Where does he fit in?
