Jen,
So, do you mean that it is OK with you for several people from a sighted
Marxist discussion forum to join Blind Democracy? That was my question. My
concern was that if that happened, the nature of this list would change. If the
change is OK with a majority of current list members, then obviously, that's
fine because the decision would be made democratically.

I disagree... I use mailing lists for a TON of stuff still and I am on FB for
other reasons ... it is completely separate platforms, and some groups is
better set up for a mailing list. Some groups have files to store information
where as this is more complicated to do on FB. I am still here reading 😊

God, am I old and slow. I saw Roger's posts about inviting new people to
subscribe 3 hours ago, but its importance didn't click until now. This list has
always been a list for blind people and their sighted friends, the purpose of
which is to discuss a variety of subjects. Mostly, politics and blindness
issues dominate, but we talk about some personal stuff as well. I don't want it
to turn into a Marxist discussion list for predominantly sighted people. Was
that the meaning of Roger's proposed invitations to folks on Facebook?
Additionally, people who use Facebook, don't need an email list, but some of us
on this list use email lists precisely because we don't use the latest social
media. I'm requesting that all of our silent list members give their opinions
on this issue, if they have opinions.
