Actually Marsha, you are very coherent.
I think that too often we become frustrated by thinking other folks
are refusing to agree with our positions, when in fact they do. When
you and I have read and thought about issues, and we have come to hold
certain beliefs based on that material, we can only tell others what
we believe, and why. We have no magic powder that will cause them to
suddenly smile and tell us just how wise we are. Actually, they go
away shaking their heads, believing that we are just as stubborn as we
believe them to be.
The stuff I write here, telling you that this is my current belief, is
done more to help me sort out what I'm thinking. When I say that I
have great respect for Chris Hedges, it is because he has expressed
his beliefs in a way that has helped me to clarify my beliefs, for me.
I'll tell you Marsha, there is no way that I will give up my beliefs
just because I can't convince others. This communication frustration
goes back a very long way.
Remember the lesson that Jesus tried to teach folks.
Mark 6:4 KJV: But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without
honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own
house.
