There are those moments when the basic animal rage rises up, and my
ears ring and my throat constricts and my body cries for violent
action.
Then I remember that I am an 82 year old, not so strong, chicken
hearted White Man who can just do nothing and probably be given a free
pass.
But all that aside, what got under my skin this time was the comment
made by a "survivor" of this recent shooting. What I heard this
congressman say was that if one of them comes under attack, they will
all stand together. I had hoped this frightened congressman would
clarify his remark, and say he meant *ALL Americans, but I think he
was really talking about his fellow congressional members. He
graciously included ALL, meaning Republicans and Democrats...and
Bernie Sanders, alike. And now the blabbering will go forth.
Investigations will be called for. Committees will study "The
Situation", and come to no conclusions of any value. In fairness to
them, what can they really do? The problem is not guns, or even gun
control. The problem is that we have become a more and more violent
People. Even our playtime is consumed with violence. And now we have
at the head of the American Corporate Empire, a president who deals in
confusion, lies, divisiveness, vindictiveness, turning one group
against others with anger and fear. That is where the
"Investigations" need to begin. But hey, we don't need that. After
all, we're the nation going around the world promoting Peace and
democracy...and we'll blow up anyone who says differently.

The guy was sixty-six and apparently has been involved in domestic violence
at least once. It appears he was not happy with how he perceived
Republicans were infringing on his benefits or something.
