Hi Miriam,
Very sad story here. These guys made a mockery of what is supposed to be a
code of honor that is not supposed to permit the kind of revenge depicted
here. Then again, as wars grow longer and men are repeatedly deployed into
high risk situations, the likelihood of such atrocities increases.
No doubt that their are many kinds of casualties of war including all of the
death, injury, both physical and mental as well as all kinds of breaches in
so-called codes of honor.
Although many of these atrocities go unpunished, each and every participant
in such atrocities has a conscience no matter how hard-headed they may
appear on the surface.
This sad tale is one of the best arguments I've seen to put an end to all of
this seemingly endless war.
