My dear Bob Evans,
In response to your statement: "Although I disagree with him
fundamentally, I still consider Carl a friend",I would answer that I
still consider you to be a brother. In the world in which I grew up,
being friends encompassed more intimacy than we are allowed via the
internet. Acquaintance, yes. And an acquaintance well worth engaging
in conversation, exploring our differences as well as our
similarities.
Along with a healthy sense of humor, a curious mind is critical if we
are to come together and resolve that which divides us, enabling us
to create a true World Peace.
While I do express impatience with your generalization and bravado at
times, saying that you sound like Donald Trump was uncalled for, and I
withdraw it. Still, I was not intending to compare You with the
Trumpster, but rather, pointing out how you generalize at times. This
is a favorite trick of Donald Trump, and of all tyrants. Sweeping
generalities can be taken in many ways by people starving for some
sort of hope, some promises to hold onto.
The United States of America is every bit as complex as is Egypt,
despite a far shorter existence. Indeed, if you read "A People's
History of the United States of America" by Howard Zinn, you will have
a sense of the America that exists beneath the America of the
Corporate Capitalists. There is America, the Republic. And there is
the American Corporate Empire(ACE).
Within the Republic, democracy still exists. Within ACE, every effort
is being made to stomp out democracy.
And that is just one struggle that exists beneath the surface of what
we call America. If you are browsing articles posted by Miriam,
Roger, Bob and others, you will see some of the struggle that is
on-going, despite the efforts by the Ruling Class(the American
Oligarchy) to smother them.
Miriam recently posted an article by Chris Hedges. It is a "Must
Read". In fact, google Chris Hedges and listen to as much of him as
you can. Hedges speaks of a different dream than that of Trump's
Billionaires. Hedges is today's leading Prophet. Google "Democracy
Now" and follow some of the news that is not broadcast on the
corporate media. Richard Wolff is another insightful economist, and
can be found on-line.
What I'm suggesting, Bob Evans, is if you truly are interested in
discussions that lead to a sharing of information, then do your
homework and listen and ask questions.
But if your goal is to promote your world as the "right way", then you
will become more and more frustrated as people turn you off.
If you and I can have mutual respect, despite some deep differences,
then there is hope for old Mother Earth and all of Her Children.

react in such strident manner. As for footballers, when Trump affronted the
footballer during his ardent rally in Huntsville, get that son of, whatever
he said off the field, no one opposed his explicit discourtesy. People at
the rally passed such offensive remarks without any criticism. I really do
not know, what is the point in insulting the guy's mother? People here
consider not standing to the national anthem in a public forum a bit
unmannered and unprofessional. No one considers this unpatriotic. Patriotism
is your temperament to persistently criticise and redress your nation's
errors. If that footballer chose not to stand to the national anthem for
whatever justifications he is convinced with, he should have not been
portrayed disgraceful and disloyal. I never stood to the national anthem
here long time ago. I hope I clarified what I meant. Good Americans have a
furious battle to fight. It's awkward because Americanism doesn't concur
with loyalty. Each and every American belong to another country, the place
where his ancestors initially came from. You couldn't commit your loyalty to
two different countries at the same time. I disbelieve in dual citizenship.
This is the same problem Israel has. Jews who migrated there have some
recognition to the countries where they came from. Love of country and
willingness to sacrifice for it couldn't be bought, forced, typified or
brought. It basically has to be from the bottom of the jawsjaws120kfrheart.
