All:
While stirring around I came across a rule that appears to have been
derived a goodly time back.
French Jesuits 1595 Rules of Civility
"Be not hasty to believe Flying Reports for the disparagement of any."
I found a second reference to someone named George Washington and his
Rules for Civility.
I wonder if he listed a referral for his quotation?
There was another appended rule subscribed to the Jesuits and George.
"Be not apt to relate News if you know not the truth thereof."
