Actually, my sister said the service and the staff were wonderful.
Just bad food and really bad bugs.

We received a call from my kid sister telling us she was in the hospital
with a very serious staff infection. This was the "gift"
given to her following back surgery a couple of weeks earlier. She's in
good spirits, but in bad shape. Last evening they did release her with a
tube directly to the heart. This must be serviced daily by a visiting
nurse, who will inject whatever stuff they inject for the purpose of
killing
staff bugs. Anyway, my sister just buried her long time partner. He
dropped dead while gardening in their back yard.
Then her eldest daughter's husband had a massive heart attack and died two
weeks ago, just before my sister's surgery. Needless to say, my sister
needs some cheerful company. Not knowing better, she asked if Cathy and I
could come to her side.
So, following a Saturday meeting, we will head out early Sunday morning,
driving straight down I-5 to the LA area and then East to Sun City. It's
only 3 days and two nights from here.
Saturday is our 34th wedding anniversary, but we sat up housekeeping in
1980. We bought a house together back in 1980 and lived there 13 years, in
Renton, Washington. Then we had this house built and have been here for 21
years. We plan to be here another 21 years, if the government doesn't chop
our pensions.
Our 2003 Ford Sports Trak has almost 300 thousand miles, and a strange
"Clunk" from time to time in the rear end. So, riding astride this elderly
truck should be a real adventure. Luckily we do carry AAA.
Our friends and family say, "It's cheaper and faster to fly". But Cathy
and
I decided long ago that we had it up to here with the offensive air
transportation industry. We conserve on everything, and do not like
supporting something as wasteful as air travel.
We will carry our own grub and stay in Motel 6's an Super 8's. We do enjoy
stopping in out of the way places for a cup of coffee or for dinner.
Meeting folks from around the area is always fun and educational. At least
as long as I don't go too radical.
Anyway, we'll sign off Saturday evening and not log on until February 25.
I
expect to have some heavy deleting to do at that time.
