In Romans 13, did Paul attempt to spread the teachings of Jesus, or was his
mission to build a structure that was to become the Christian Church?
Back in the days of Slavery, Romans 13 was a favorite reading from the New
Testament.
"Obey the Laws" was the message...or suffer the sting of the whip.
And now Attorney General Jeff Sessions has dusted Paul's words off, directing
them to those UnAmericans who protest such laws as those which now separate the
children from their parents as they flea oppression in their own countries, in
a vain hope of finding mercy in the United States of America.
Well, just as a reminder, Mister Secretary, if we were to have obeyed Romans 13
back around 1776, we would now be singing, "God Save the Queen"! The Star
Spangled Banner would not proudly wave, and our parents would have borne us in
hovels on the plantations and ranches where we would work as indentured
servants, alongside the Slaves.
And so, the Word comes from God's lips to Jeff Session's ear.
