Subject: News Alert: Pelosi urges Pence to use 25th Amendment to remove Trump,
calls for resignation of U.S. Capitol Police chief
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) joined Senate Minority Leader Charles E.
Schumer (D-N.Y.) in calling on the vice president to act, saying President
Trump “invited an armed insurrection against the United States of America.”
She said that if Pence doesn’t act, she "may be forced to move forward with
impeachment."
Pelosi also called for the resignation of Steven A. Sund, the chief of the U.S.
Capitol Police, and said House Sergeant at Arms Paul D. Irving had submitted
his resignation.
